Have you ever heard the term Padsicles before? Padsicles will become your best friend after giving birth! And the best part is, you can make them yourself.

So, what are Padsicles? Padsicles are frozen pads with several different holistic healing elements you can use to soothe yourself after birth. They alleviate inflammation as well as help you heal more quickly.

What you will need:

  • Your favorite pads
  • Aloe vera
  • Witch hazel
  • Lavender essential oils


First, unwrap your favorite pads, be sure not to take them completely out of the plastic package, just unwrap them enough so you can lay them flat. Then, generously spread aloe vera along the entire pad. Do not be shy!  Slather as much as you can. Then, add about a teaspoon of witch hazel to the pad, try to run it down the middle of the pad. After that, add a few drops of lavender oil to the pad. 

Rewrap the pad and place it into a gallon ziplock bag. Fill the bag and place it in the freezer. You will want to make at least two dozen pads, maybe more. 

As you recover at home, be sure to use your Padsicles as often as possible.
